Day 01: Arrive Amritsar
Arrive Amristar in morning ex Delhi by Shatabadi express. Meet on arrival and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Wagah Border to view change of guard. Later visit Golden Temple and view evening Arti ceremony. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Amritsar / Dharamsala ( 200 kms / 6 hrs )
Travel by surface from Amritsar to Dharamsala. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: In Dharamsala
Morning half day tour visiting Dalai Lama Temple, Bhagsunag Temple and St John’s church. Afternoon visit Norbulingka Institute and Kangra State Museum. Evening free to explore Mc Leodganj market. Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Dharamsala / Manali ( 240 kms / 8 hrs )
Travel by surface from Dharamsala to Manali enroute visiting Palampur town, viewing tea gardens, old Shiva temple at Baijnath, Mandi & Kullu towns. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: In Manali
Morning half day tour visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple and Vashisht. Afternoon half day tour visiting Naggar Castle, Roerich Art Gallery (closed on mondays) and some other old temples in Naggar village. Evening free to explore Manali market. Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Manali / Kaza ( 200 kms / 10 - 11 hrs )
Travel by surface from Manali to Kaza over Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and Kunzam Pass (4558 m). Enroute also cross villages like Losar, Hansa and Rangrik villages. On arrival check in at guest house. Overnight at guest house.
Day 07: In Kaza
Morning visit Ki monastery and Kibber village. Travel onwards to Tashigong village to view Chao Chao Kang Nilda peak. Afternoon free to explore the town of Kaza, the main hub of Spiti valley. Overnight at guest house.
Day 08: Kaza / Tabo
Travel by surface from Kaza to Pin Valley where you have a chance to view Ibex who come down to Pin river for drinking. At Pin valley visit Kungri monastery. Later travel onwards visiting Lalung monastery which is more than thousand years old. Travel onwards to visit Dhankar Monastery situated on a hilltop. This gompa rests high over the valley and is a stupendous example of local architecture. It is regarded to have once been a fort and was also the residence of the ruler of Spiti – the Nano. Continue drive onwards to Tabo. On arrival check in at guest house. Evening visit Tabo Monastery. Founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber. There are several caves adorned with frescoes and contemporary structures too. In trans Himalayan Buddhism, Tabo’s sanctity is next only to Tibet’s Tholing gompa. Overnight at guest house.
Day 09: Tabo / Kalpa ( 195 kms / 9 - 10 hrs )
Morning visit Tabo monastery. After the visit travel onwards to Kalpa enroute visiting Nako village situated on banks of a small lake. Visit the village and the Buddhist temples with stucco images and murals. Near Nako is a rock where a footprint like impression is ascribed to Padmasambhava. Continue drive to Kalpa enroute visiting confluence of Satluj & Spiti rivers at Khab. Kalpa village is located in backdrop of Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 10: In Kalpa
Morning visit Roghi village which has traditional Kinnaur houses and a small temple. Walk back to Kalpa over the Roghi cliff. Afternoon free to explore Kalpa village or visit Recong Peo town. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Kalpa / Sangla ( 51 kms / 2 hrs )
Travel by surface from Kalpa to Sangla enroute visiting Kamru Fort & village. On arrival in Sangla check in at camp. Afternoon free to enjoy the scenic beauty of Sangla or you can make a walk to nearby Batseri village. Overnight at camp.
Day 12: In Sangla
In picturesque settings and with interesting architecture, visit the village of Chitkul. Overnight in camp at Sangla.
Day 13: Sangla / Sarahan ( 92 kms / 4 hrs )
Travel from Sangla to Sarahan by jeep. On arrival check in at hotel. Afternoon visit the famous Bhimakali temple, regarded as one of the Shaktipeeths. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Sarahan / Shimla ( 184 kms / 6 hrs )
Travel from Sarahan to Shimla enroute visiting Rampur and the hill resorts of Narkanda & Kufri. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: In Shimla
Morning visit Indian Institute of Advanced Studies built in 1888. Situated on a hillock, this was formally the palace of the British Viceroy. Also visit the Jakho temple. Evening visit The Mall the main shopping area of Shimla and The Ridge. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16: Shimla/ Kalka (90 kms/ 3 hrs)
In time transfer to Kalka railway station to board train for Delhi. End of tour.
